Promotional Misprints
Hamilton Island Enterprises Limited (HIE) endeavours to ensure that all prices listed on their website are accurate and up-to-date. If we discover an error in the price of any offer you have booked, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of cancelling it, or reconfirming the booking at the correct price (in the case of a price error). If we are unable to contact you, the booking will be treated as cancelled and if you have already paid you will receive a full refund.
Credit/Debit Card Transaction Fees

Deposit
- A deposit equivalent to 20% of the total booking value is required at time of booking
- This deposit is refundable up until 28 days prior to arrival date
- Full payment is required at the time of booking if travel is within 21 days of arrival date
- Credit card fees apply and are non-refundable – AMEX 3%, Visa 1.25% and Mastercard 1.25%
Final Balance
- The final balance of your accommodation is required no later than 21 days prior to arrival date
- Final balance payments are automatically processed on the nominated credit card provided at the time of booking
- Final balance payments not received by 21 days prior to arrival date may result in cancellation of the reservation

Cancellations and Amendments
- Cancellations and amendments received outside of 28 days of arrival date will not incur a cancellation fee
- Cancellations and amendments received within 28-21 days of arrival date will be subject to a cancellation fee of 20% of the total booking value
- Cancellations and amendments received within 21 days of arrival date, ‘No Shows’ and/or ‘Early Departures’ will be subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking value
- Notice of any cancellation, amendment or reduction in reserved rooms must be provided in writing to Hamilton Island Holidays on vacations@hamiltonisland.com.au

COVID-19 booking conditions
Flexible Booking Policy in the event of COVID-19 illness
If you have booked direct with Hamilton Island, and you become unwell with COVID-19 or you are required to isolate as a close contact within 7 days prior to your arrival date, we will change your dates with no penalty right up until your arrival date. If you have booked through a travel agent, online travel agent such as Expedia or independent accommodation provider you will need to get in contact with them directly as they may have different terms and conditions.
If you need to change your travel dates for the above reasons, please call our Reservations team on 137 333 between 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday - Fridays or 9.00am – 3.00pm Saturdays. Please note: For Holiday Homes, any change to travel dates must be for the same property. Please note that written documentation of illness will need to be provided as evidence.
Flexible Booking Policy in the event of a Queensland border closure or intrastate restrictions
If you have booked a holiday direct with Hamilton Island, and your travel is impacted by an interstate Queensland border closure or intrastate travel restrictions, please see the below for our terms and conditions related to your travel. If you have booked through a travel agent, online travel agent such as Expedia or independent accommodation provider you will need to get in contact with them directly as they may have different terms and conditions.
If you live interstate:
- and have paid your final balance while the Queensland border is closed to your State, if the border closure remains in place over your travel dates, the Standard, Race Week or Festive Season Cancellation Policy will apply
- and have paid your final balance while the Queensland border is open to your State, if there is a sudden Queensland border closure after your final balance payment, we will amend your travel dates without penalty.
If you live in Queensland:
- and have paid your final balance while there are Queensland intrastate travel restrictions in place, if these travel restrictions remains in place over your travel dates, the Standard, Race Week or Festive Season Cancellation Policy will apply
- and have paid your final balance while there are no Queensland intrastate travel restrictions in place, if there is a sudden introduction of intrastate travel restrictions after your final balance payment, we will amend your travel dates without penalty.
Please check Queensland Health and your own State Health website to be certain of what Travel Restrictions apply to you.
Reservations held in credit
If you need to change your travel dates due to illness or border restrictions, you can do so without penalty. You have two options:
- If you know the exact dates you’d like to book, we can reserve those dates at time of rebooking (subject to availability)
- If you don’t know the exact dates you’d like to rebook, we can hold your booking in credit for up to 12 months for Hamilton Island Holiday Homes (dates can be changed for the same property only) or for up to three years for any of our Hamilton Island Hotels.
Please note, that whilst no penalty applies to change your booking, if your new travel dates fall into a new yearly rate period (rate periods renew 1 April every year), the overall price of your booking may increase according to the new room rates in that period.
Pricing
All prices are quoted in AUD and include 10% GST. Not valid for conference or group bookings. Available to new bookings only. Room rates increase from 1 April 2022.
Check-in / Check-out
Check-in time is 2pm. Check-out time is 10am. If you are arriving prior to 2pm, we suggest packing a change of clothes/swimmers/book etc in your hand luggage, so that you can start your holiday straight away.
Third party promotions and prizing
Hamilton Island room nights cannot be purchased for the purpose of third party promotions and prizing.
Online Holiday Home booking requests
If you submit a booking request via our website (hamiltonislandholidayhomes.com.au) and the Holiday Home is available, the credit card provided at the time of booking will be processed for the nominated value and you will receive a formal confirmation email outlining your reservation details.
Should your requested Holiday Home not be available you will be contacted by our Hamilton Island Reservations team to discuss alternatives. We encourage you not to book flights until you have received a formal booking confirmation email from our Reservations team.
Credit Card fees
The following credit card transaction fees apply: 3% Amex, 1.25% Visa, MasterCard and Union Pay.
Credit card transaction fees are non-refundable.
Arrival details
We need your Arrival Details as soon as you have them so that we can do our best to have your room ready on time. We will email you closer to your holiday to obtain these details or you can email us on vacations@hamiltonisland.com.au.
Flights
Flight bookings with Hamilton Island Reservations
If your flights have been booked and paid for directly with the Hamilton Island Reservations team, your flight itinerary and e-tickets will be attached to your first confirmation email. It is important that you check your flight itinerary details and spelling of all passenger names as soon as you receive your e-tickets. Please contact us as soon as possible if any of this information is incorrect.
Flight e-tickets
Please print your e-tickets and put them in a safe place, ready to take with you to the airport. You may be required to present this document upon check-in and airport security checks. Should you misplace your tickets, please email flights@hamiltonisland.com.au and request new copies.
Flight cancellations and changes
Flights purchased are subject to the terms and conditions of the airline, including applicable fees and surcharges for any amendments or cancellations. If you need to make any changes or to cancel your flight bookings, you will need to contact the relevant airline directly. Please refer to your flight itinerary or airline website for further information.
Room occupancy
Bookings will not be accepted if the maximum number of guests exceeds the stated capacity of the property. It is the responsibility of the guest to ensure that the property meets the capacity requirements of their travelling party prior to booking.
Kids Stay and Eat Free
Available to guests staying at the Reef View, Palm Bungalows and Holiday Homes. Children 12 years and under can eat free in participating restaurants, when dining with their parents and choosing from the kids’ menu. Kids Eat free is for dine in only. (Takeaway/delivery or room service is not part of the program).
Kids Eat free is only available when minimum one main adults meal is ordered.

Buggies
The number of buggies included for each property varies based on property size and standard. Please refer to your specific property’s information page on www.hamiltonislandholidayhomes.com.au.
These are the general terms and conditions for buggies:
- A full and current driver’s license is required to obtain use of a Golf Buggy.
- Please be aware that as a condition of use, a $0 hold will be placed on your credit card when collecting your buggy.
- Any repairs or replacement costs incurred due to damage whilst in your care is your responsibility.
- You have the option to purchase a $12 per day damage waiver to protect against accidental damage. If the buggy is damaged and the waiver has not been purchased then $1,500 is charged to your credit card until the damage and cost has been assessed.
Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads have set out the following condition for use for all buggies operating on Hamilton Island:
- Authorised drivers must be a minimum age of 21 years old and hold a current driver’s license to drive the vehicle.
- A passenger less than six months old must be restrained in a rearward facing infant restraint, located in the front seat and secured to an engineered anchor point and fitted seatbelt.
- A passenger at least six months old, but less than four years old must be restrained in an approved forward facing child restraint and secured to an engineered anchor point and fitted seat belt.
- Children are not permitted to travel on the lap of another passenger.
- A passenger at least four years old, but less than seven years old must be restrained in an approved forward facing child restraint or by a seatbelt.
- A passenger four years old and above must not occupy the front passenger seating position if there is another passenger who is less than four years old.
Travel Insurance
We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover cancellations, travel delays and other unforeseen incidents and accidents.
Virgin Australia Velocity Points
Stays in Yacht Club Villas and Hamilton Island Holiday Homes are excluded from earning Velocity Points.
Website Images
Images on the Hamilton Island website are indicative of the Holiday Home you have booked. Please be aware that each property is subject to change visually based on the property owner replacing or changing contents or modifying their property.
Property Removed from Letting Pool
In the event that the property you have selected is removed from the Letting Pool, you will be notified and we will endeavour to offer you a suitable alternative. Should an alternative holiday property option not be suitable for the period of your stay, you may cancel the accommodation booking without penalty.
Mid-stay cleans
Only Yacht Club Villa stays of five (5) nights or more receive a complimentary mid-stay clean. If you would like to enquire about mid-stay cleans please contact Hamilton Island Holidays on 1800 370 811. For shorter stays and non-Yacht Club Villa properties, your Holiday Home is not serviced during your stay. If you would like to enquire about mid-stay cleans, please contact our reservations team on 1800 370 811.
Entertaining in a Hamilton Island Holiday Home
- Guests may not have parties, functions or events in their Holiday Home unless prior written permission has been obtained from Hamilton Island Holiday Homes on behalf of the property owner. If permission is granted, our Hamilton Island Events team can assist you with setup and catering, subject to their availability and at an additional cost.
Exclusive Bonus Inclusions
Bonus Inclusions per day value is offered complimentary by Hamilton Island Holiday Homes and is estimated based on the combined cost of one buggy hire, one hour kayak hire for a family (2 adults, 2 children) and two meals per day for two children (eating at the participating Kids Stay and Eat Free^ restaurants). The exact value of Inclusions will depend on the number of guests (adults and children) in the traveling party, number and type of non-motorised watersports engaged in during any given day and type of property. There is no limit on how many non-motorised watersports Hamilton Island Holiday Homes guests choose to participate in during one day. Non-motorised watersports are defined as Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Catamarans, Windsurfing and Snorkelling. Inclusions are available for guests staying in Hamilton Island Holiday Homes managed properties only.
